On the afternoon of July 31st, 2019, Guangzhou Eastern Biomass Waste Integrated Treatment Plant, which was invested, constructed and operated by Leoking Environmental Group in BOT mode, was put into operation and launched in the plant area. Zhang Shuofu, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Guangdong Provincial Committee and Secretary of the CPC Guangzhou Municipal Committee, led the leaders of the Standing Committee of the CPC Guangzhou Municipal People's Congress, the municipal government and the CPPCC Guangzhou Municipal Committee to witness the launching of the Guangzhou Eastern Biomass Waste Integrated Treatment Plant.

The launch was hosted by Yang Jianghua, vice mayor of Guangzhou. After the broadcast of the documentary film of Fushan recycling economy industrial park, Chen Jianxiang, chairman of Leoking Environmental Group, took the stage to introduce the overall situation of the biomass plant and its leading technologies in the field of food waste classification and treatment and anaerobic fermentation. Chen Jianxiang, chairman of the board of directors, said that Leoking Environmental Group will continue to adhere to the tenet of "Continuous scientific and technological progress, all-round environmental protection services", operate and manage the plant well with the concept of "Guarding the environment for love".

Mayor Wen Guohui delivered an important speech on behalf of the municipal party committee and the municipal government on the commissioning of the biomass plant. He also said that the official production of the biomass plant is a concrete action for Guangzhou to thoroughly study and implement Xi Jinping's ecological civilization ideology, implement the general secretary's important instructions on waste classification and implement the spirit of the twelve seven session of the provincial party committee. It is also the important sign of promoting the classification of urban and rural household waste with whole chain, whole system and full coverage of Guangzhou, it will play an important role in promoting the classification of household waste in the whole city to take the lead in the country, realizing the new vitality of the old city, and making four "new achievements". Mayor Wen Guohui pointed out that the new round of facilities construction work in Guangzhou has been carried out in an all-round way, and the completion and operation of the biomass integrated treatment plant will further improve the capacity of waste classification and biochemical treatment in Guangzhou.

On the last agenda of the launch activity, Zhang Shuofu, member of the Standing Committee of Guangdong Provincial Committee and Secretary of Guangzhou Municipal Committee, Wen Guohui, deputy secretary of the Municipal Committee and mayor, and Chen Jianxiang, chairman of Leoking Environmental Group, jointly launched the production of the Guangzhou Eastern Biomass Waste Integrated Treatment Plant. The move marks the formal operation of the Guangzhou Eastern Biomass Waste Integrated Treatment Plant, and the opening of the household waste treatment pattern of "incineration as the main, biochemical as the auxiliary and landfill as the guarantee" in Guangzhou.
Overview of the Guangzhou Eastern Biomass Waste Integrated Treatment Plant
Guangzhou Eastern Biomass Waste Integrated Treatment Plant is invested, constructed and operated by Leoking Environmental Group in BOT mode, with a total investment capacity of more than 850 million yuan. The project covers an area of 125.4 mu. It is one of the most important biochemical treatment facilities for classified treatment of household waste in Guangzhou. It was completed on July 25th, 2019, and entered the trial operation period from July 31st. According to Frost &Sullivan, the project will be the largest integrated organic waste treatment facility in the world with a daily treatment capacity of 2040 tons after it is put into operation.
Anaerobic System
The project treatment technology adopts the way of pretreatment + anaerobic fermentation to produce biogas + comprehensive utilization of resources. After the pretreatment of four kinds of treatment objects, such as impurity separation, crushing and pulping, high-temperature sterilization, oil extraction, etc., the waste slurry is mixed and transported to the anaerobic fermentation system for joint anaerobic fermentation treatment, and the organic waste is transformed into biogas, electric energy and biological fertilizer by the biodegradation of microorganisms, harmless treatment at the same time produce resource-based products.
The completion and operation of the biomass integrated treatment plant will further improve the classification and biochemical treatment capacity of Guangzhou municipal solid waste, which is conducive to the classification treatment and resource utilization of Guangzhou municipal solid waste, as well as the effective management and control of food waste, waste edible oil and dead livestock and poultry to ensure food safety and prevent environmental pollution.
